Capturing the Energy's organisational structure

Capturing the Energy is run by a Commercial & Strategy Group, which provides governance, financial management and oversight for the project, and directs the work of two sub-groups (Archives & Collections and Marketing & Communications).

These groups are overseen by the project’s Steering Group, which is made up of representatives from operating companies, the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy, the University of Aberdeen and Robert Gordon University, heritage organisations, and individuals with an interest in the industry's history.

Please see the groups' Terms of Reference for more information, and if you are interested in joining the Steering Group, please contact the Secretary, Miles Oglethorpe.

Development Officer

Oil & Gas UK has generously supported the appointment of a Development Officer to work on the project, based at the University of Aberdeen. The position was previously held by Katy Johnson, and the current postholder is Joe Chapman, who started on the project in June 2016.

Contact the Development Officer to find out more about how you can contribute to Capturing the Energy, whether it be supporting a documentation project, facilitating a record survey or providing technical advice or personal papers from your time in the industry.

Check out the 'Meet the Team' page for more about Joe and the rest of the Capturing the Energy team based at the University of Aberdeen.
